Kykkos Plant

Coca - Cola HBC Cyprus has undertaken the bottling and the distribution of Kykkos Natural Mineral Water since 2011 when we acquired the bottling plant and the management of the brand from the Kykkos Monastery.

The third production plant of our Company is located in the mountains of Kykkos, where we produce Kykkos Natural Mineral Water. In 2011, we proceeded with a €2.000.000 investment to modernize and upgrade the plant in order to achieve high quality production standards while applying the most recent health and safety rules. It is a modern facility with one production line with an annual production capacity reaching 32.500.000 liters per year. Through this facility, we produce  PET packages in 500 ml, 1 lt and 1,5lt .

The quality and safety of natural spring water Kykkos is ensured through the certification of the production unit by the independent certification body Lloyd's (LRQA) with the following international standards: ISO 22000:2005, Food Safety Management System.

In 2016, Kykkos plant was certified by the European Water Stewardship (EWS) for the holistic approach to the sustainable management of water resources, receiving a Gold Distinction and achieving 100% on all targets. It is the first factory in the food and beverage industry in Cyprus, which is distinguished in accordance with the European Institution European Water Partnership which assesses and certifies sustainable water management practices.

We use water more efficiently having significantly improved the water index in the last 4 years (1.16 lt per liter of product produced in 2017 to 1.12 in 2020) and we aim to further reduce it by implementing practices and investments to continuously improve water management that we use.

We are constantly saving energy by improving the energy index in the last 4 years (0.22 MJ per liter of product produced in 2017 to 0.19 in 2020).
