At Coca-Cola Hellenic, the quality and safety of our products are non-negotiable values and constitute the core of our activity, but also our most important obligation to our consumers and customers. We invest systematically in order to offer the consumer the right product, in the right packaging, at the right point of sale, with safety as our primary concern.
We care about the health and safety of the consumer
We control the quality of the products we produce and distribute at all stages of their life cycle. We regularly apply organoleptic, chemical, physical and microbiological controls, with strict acceptance criteria for compliance with the specifications of the packaging, the products, the ingredients, as well as the production and distribution stages. At the same time, all our products have the necessary markings, as provided for by the Food and Beverage Code.
Also, on the production lines, we have invested in a sophisticated and specially adapted statistical production control software, which directly displays the results, so that improvement actions can be taken immediately, where necessary.
The bottling facilities use ingredients and packaging materials only from approved suppliers. Both ingredients and finished products are tested in quality control laboratories at our own facilities.
We certify and audit our production units and collaborate with scientific bodies
All our units are certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 & FSSC 22000, which ensure the production of Quality and Safe food. Every year, repeated inspections are carried out in the laboratories of our company's four production units, in accordance with the framework of the company's internal standards, which exceed the requirements of the legislation and the ISO 22000 system. Our internal procedures are designed to fully support the priority we have set for the production of safe and excellent quality food and beverages. In this light, we carry out internal inspections on an annual basis, with acceptance criteria stricter than both the requirements of the quality standards (e.g. ISO22000) and those of the legislation
On an annual basis, a microbiological "ring test" is carried out, with the participation of all the microbiological laboratories of the factories, in collaboration with the University of Budapest. The results of the test rank our laboratories in the top positions every time, demonstrating the commitment and training of our people.
We develop and implement systems, standards and practices to ensure food quality and safety, through which we document and communicate the principles that govern it. In addition, as a bottler of The Coca‑Cola Company, we implement the KORE quality management program, which sets strict standards for product quality and safety and the suitability of packaging.
Also, quality department employees participate in recurring training programs related to quality management and food safety.
