Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (HBC) achieves the highest scores and rankings in ten of the most recognized ESG assessments, achieving top performance recognized by 10 major ESG raters, including the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) and CDP.

In December 2023, Coca-Cola HBC was once again named the most sustainable beverage company in the world by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for 2023. A significant addition to Coca-Cola HBC’s list of achievements is the double “A” rating from CDP for its outstanding performance in climate protection and water management. This improved rating compared to the previous year’s “A-” demonstrates the Group’s commitment to transparency and environmental leadership, as it places it in a select group of companies worldwide that have achieved a similarly high rating from CDP.

These achievements mark important milestones in the Group’s sustainability journey to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, while underlining its commitment to sustainable development through “Mission 2025” and its strategic pillars: climate, packaging, water, raw materials, nutrition, people and society. In addition, the ESG successes are important steps on this long journey, with Coca-Cola HBC placing sustainable development and addressing global challenges at the core of its strategy.

These achievements are the result of our clear vision and goals regarding sustainability, our bold business mindset and our strong belief that sustainability is a key driver for the growth and value of our organization. We continue to invest in technology, innovation and synergies, as well as test new solutions, as we continue to chart our path towards sustainability. We are moving dynamically towards our sustainability goals as we continue to open new horizons for a more sustainable future

Consistent with the Group's strategy for sustainable development, Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus is implementing significant sustainability initiatives in Cyprus to achieve its goal of zero carbon emissions by 2040. To this end, it is working intensively to reduce energy consumption and has achieved significant goals so that the electricity supply of its factories comes from 100% renewable sources, while over 65.5% of total energy comes from renewable energy sources.

Furthermore, prioritizing the “Green Fleet” program, Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus is using electric forklifts in its factories, while replacing its fleet with electric and hybrid vehicles. At the same time, in this journey of minimizing its carbon footprint, the company is replacing its refrigerators in the market with highly energy-efficient equipment.

Recognizing the importance of proper water management, Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus has proceeded to install water recycling and reuse systems at a rate of more than 75% in the Nicosia and Kykkos factories, while at the same time conducting continuous monitoring and measurement of consumption through analyses and online measurements on a daily basis for the accurate mapping of the water network.

Finally, the company actively stands alongside society, empowers the new generation and boosts employment, implementing the innovative free training program "Youth Empowered".
