Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus received multiple awards that highlight its initiatives in sustainable development, commitments, partnerships and actions that create economic, social and environmental impacts in its value chain at the Cyprus Responsible Business Awards 2023. The company, which has adapted its operations by focusing on reducing its environmental footprint, won a total of 7 awards at the ceremony held on Tuesday, July 9.
Specifically, Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus received 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze awards in different categories. The company received a gold distinction in the “Natural Resources Management” category for responsible water management in all of the company’s production plants. In this context, the company managed to reduce the water usage index by 34.6% compared to 2010 in its production plants (water, soft drinks, milk).
At the same time, it received a gold distinction for its “ comprehensive carbon footprint management plan ” within the framework of the Group's Net Zero by 40 commitment, already achieving the goal set for 2025, for 100% of the electricity in its factories to come from renewable energy sources.
A silver distinction was secured by the company for supporting the successful Zero Waste HoReCa initiative , which aims to reduce waste and promote sustainability in the catering and hospitality industry.
In addition, Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus received a silver award in the " Supply Chain " category for the pioneering method it applies, using Augmented Reality technology to manage inventory with the Vision Picking function.
The company also received a bronze award in the Business-Academic Collaboration category for its #YouthEmpowered program . The program aims to broaden the professional horizons of young people and provide them with the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills to successfully enter the labor market.
At the same time, the bronze award in the " Education/Scholarships " category was given to the collaboration of Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus with the MBA of the University of Cyprus and the Department of Business Administration and Public Administration. The collaboration, which is celebrating its 17th anniversary this year, includes scholarships, sponsorships, internships, jobs and student mentorship.
The third bronze award was secured in the " Gender Equality " category for balanced gender representation as a pillar of the company's culture, reflected in the Sustainable Development Commitments, which require that by 2025 50% of management positions be represented by women.
