Consistent with the Group's strategy for sustainable development, Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus implements significant sustainability initiatives to achieve its goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. To this end, it is working intensively to reduce energy consumption and has achieved important targets so that the supply of electricity to its plants comes from 100% renewable sources, while 66.9% of the total energy comes from renewable energy sources.
In addition, by prioritizing the "Green Fleet" program, Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus uses electric forklifts in its factories, while replacing its fleet with electric and hybrid vehicles. At the same time, in this journey of minimizing its carbon footprint, the company is replacing its refrigerators on the market with energy- efficient equipment.
Recognizing the importance of proper water management, Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus has installed water recycling and reuse systems at a rate of more than 75% at its plants in Nicosia and Kykkos, has achieved a reduction in the water use rate by 34.6% compared to 2010, while at the same time it conducts continuous monitoring and measurement of consumption through analyses and online measurements on a daily basis for the accurate mapping of the water network.
